The IVC+R has three primary activities: conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, investigation on all fields related to cultural assets and professional formation. The IVCR
has a recognized prestige due to its research programs and methods applied in conservation and restoration. Work from the IVCR is recognized in Spain, Europe, LatinAmerican and
the United states of America. All these countries have collaboration agreements signed with the IVC+R for restoration projects, research projects and professional formation.

The IVC+R is in charge of conservation of cultural heritage through projects that involve all aspects concerning to cultural assets. The project elaboration includes a historic study of the artwork, previous and throughout intervention scientific studies, elaboration of a restoration project with scientific studies support and, finally, the restoration process. This activity requires an interdisciplinary professional workgroup that includes all fields restores (painting, wood
sculpture, paper, stone materials, monuments, rock art, textile, etc.), scientists and historians.

The IVC+R also has as its priorities the investigation in all fields related to art and conservation of cultural heritage. On one hand, a scientific support is added for restoration interventions
and, on the other hand, own and sponsored research projects oriented to conservation of cultural heritage are developed.

Finally, professional formation and diffusion courses are given where new techniques and technologies applied to restoration in all fields are taught.

IVC+R can provide with infrastructures and human resources as:

- Laboratory equipped with the most common techniques used for the study of cultural assets: optical microscopy, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM-EDX), FTIR with associated microscopy with ATR objective, spectrophotometer, accelerated aging chamber and electromechanical testing
system.

- Conservation and restoration workshops completely equipped. In particular, for the purpose of this research project. Preliminary tests of the products can be prepared in these workshops. Moreover, the IVC+R can provide with in situ real goods for testing of developed materials.

- Conservation and restoration experienced professionals and scientists specialized in art goods studies
