 Brief description of your activity focus Polibienestar is specialised in research, development and innovation, management and assessment of Social Policies.
 Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies Polibienestar is a public research institute led by Jordi Garcés, Prince of Asturias distinguished visiting professor
at Georgetown University. Its final mission is the improvement of the welfare and quality of life of society.
Polibienestar is integrated by a multidisciplinary team including researchers from various disciplines (economics,
sociology, social work, psychology, political science and law among others). Polibienestar carries out
interdisciplinary research applied to the economic, social, political and technical sustainability of welfare
systems in issues regarding: education, health, active ageing and social and public services with the aim of
modernizing and designing policies to improve their effectiveness and efficiency according to the new social
challenges. Polibienestar advises the Administration and private entities in the design, planning and
implementation of social policies and services. And it also has a broad experience in cooperation and
participation in European R&D projects and networks due to its active role in research and policy design.
Polibienestar has participated and coordinated 19 European R&D projects and more than 30 national and regional
projects. Beyond the different projects in which Polibienestar has participated as a partner, it has also
coordinated
the LivingAll project funded by the VI Framework Programme of the European Commission.
Supported by its ample experience in social research within the public sector Polibienestar has the capacity to do
the following:
• Analysis of the state of the art;
• Research design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative methodologies;
• Identification, analysis and evaluation of human needs, attitudes, social changes and dynamics;
• Design, analysis and assessment of policies, programmes and interventions- impact analysis and cost/benefit
analysis and identification of inclusive and innovative social policies and best practices and services;
• Policy recommendations and guidelines to advise policy makers in different topics;
• Dialogue and cooperation between researchers and stakeholders and implementation of networking
activities;
• Design, implementation and evaluation of trainings and pilots; and
• Dissemination and awareness activities.
Moreover, Polibienestar has the capacity to lead and organise R&D activities with a wide national and
international partnership, participates actively in EU networks, transfers the results of its research to the
scientific
community and society, etc. Polibienestar is part of two research micro-clusters of excellence of the University
of
Valencia (“New Technologies for Health and Healthy ageing” and “Technologies for governance and social
sustainability”), as well as partner in the Instituto Superior de Investigación, Traslación e Innovación
