 Brief description of your activity focus MSKU has a team of young, friendly, dynamic and dedicated academics who closely follow global developments in science and education.
 Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies Key persons involved in the projects are long-term experts working for Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of
Economics and Administrative Sciences and Department of Informatics. They have experience in implementation
of several projects and experience in cooperation with NGOs, educational institutions and local governments.
Also the key staff had been the key coordinators of the aforementioned university- industry partnership between
MSKU and MUTSO from 2016 to 2018. The key staffs of this project (Tugba and Ceray) are working together for
Mugla Chambers of Trade and Industry which has 7.000 members. The main duty of Tugba and Ceray in Chamber
was coordinating vocational education trainings and self-improvement of these members by designing meetings,
workshops, seminars etc. In 2017 and 2018, under the coordination of Tugba and Ceray The Chamber organised 2
workshops. One of them was for human resource managers of SMEs and the second one of them was for SMEs
who were preparing for internationalization process. Besides, all services and trainings organized by Tugba and
Ceray request identified key knowledge in various business domains and core mandatory soft skills to be able to
support efficiently the SMEs owners in their daily work. Tugba and Ceray also give mentoring services to the
member SMEs and other public institutions’ members in the city by assessing their needs, searching financial
partners and funds for them, facilitating project ideas, identifying and validating SMEs’ human resource and
their competences.
In particular the key staff who proposed this project to the consortium are:
Assoc Prof Dr. Tugba Ucma Uysal: She attended Mugla University where she received a bachelor degree in
Business Administration. Then she attended Mugla University and obtained her master degree in Business
Administration. She attended Dokuz Eylul University and obtained PH.D. in Accounting and Finance in 2010. Then
she has been associated professor in September 2013 in Mugla Sitki Kocman University. Since September 2013,
She has been associate professor at Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Mugla Sitki Kocman
University. At the same time, she is the director of Mugla University Research and Project Coordination Center.
She has international and national journal articles, book and book chapters about Accounting. Her research
interests cover a range of topics in accounting theory, auditing, accounting ethics, fraudulent auditing. She has
experiences in the management and implementation of different national and international projects.
Assist. Prof. Dr. CERAY ALDEMİR, PhD, her background education is Public Administration and Management with
Local Governments and New Social Movements specialization (PhD accomplished in University of Manchester-
Manchester Business School,). She has extensive knowledge and experience on local governmental organizations
and the application of the new public management. She studied and worked in Manchester Business School as
teaching assistant between 2008 and 2014. Currently she is working at Mugla Sitki Kocman University Public
Administration department as an assistant professor and vice-director of Mugla University Research and Project
Coordination Center. Ceray has a special interest on SMEs who are very important for economic development. In
her reaserces she underlines that not only for private sector but also for public sector and investments, if proper
corporate governance strategies are implemented by SMEs, their growth opportunities are expected to increase.
Also Ceray attended and run many workshops and seminars on the necessity of SME involvement in public
procurement.
Also both Tugba and Ceray has published indexed academic papers which aim to explain the blockchain
technology and their usage in both public and private sector.

Research Assistant Eyüp Şen is a research assistant at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University in Muğla, Turkey. After
graduating from high school, he went to METU and did his bachelors in political science and public
administration with minors in city planning and development. During his university education, he worked as a
volunteer in projects for children who could not access education. After graduating from university, he started a
master program in political science and public administration department at METU. He is still doing his master
and planned to graduate in September 2019. In 2018, he worked in ASAM for UNHCR project as finance officer.
Currently, he is working as a research assistant at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University in the department of public
administration. His main research interests are on organizational theory and social movements. His master
thesis subject is the institutionalization of social movements. |
