Giorgio Baruchello is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Akureyri, where he has been working since 2003.
He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Guelph, Canada, which he was awarded in 2002. His research
interests focus upon intellectual history, ethics and philosophy of science, especially economics and biology. He has
taught in the past at the University of Guelph, the University of Genoa (Italy) and the Bader International Study
Centre of Queen’s University at Herstmonceux castle (UK). Since 2005 he edits the scholarly e-journal Nordicum-
Mediterraneum (http://nome.unak.is), which is published by the University of Akureyri. Recent publications of his
have appeared in Hugur, Appraisal and Economics, Management, and Financial Markets.
