Dr. Sonia Yáñez is Senior Researcher at the Centre for Women’s Studies, Santiago, Chile and responsible for design, fund-rising and execution of research projects and consultancies for Chilean government agencies and international organisations; also teaching and outreach. She also serves as consultant for the United Nations Development Programme Chile (UNDP), the International Labour Office (ILO) Multidisciplinary Technical Advisory Team Santiago, and Chilean government agencies. She was involved in the European project PROMETEA Empowering Women Engineers: Careers in Industrial and Academic Research http://www.prometea.info (Chilean Team Leader, 2005-2007). She was lecturer at the First Intensive Course on Gender, Macroeconomics and International Economy in Latin America and the Caribbean, organised by the School of Economics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2006.
