My expertise is mainly in the following aspects of research methods: applied statistics, measurement theory,
sample theory, demographic techniques, data management, data quality control and statistical computing.
my academic work I have built on a strong methodological expertise in the area of public health, social
determinants of health, health behavior, youth research and youth policy. In my studies I have studies
such as dental health, the role of social capital in teenage smoking, the determinants of increased income
inequality in the US, the prevalence of dental caries and erosion in Icelandic children. I am currently
running a study of the effect of economic collapse on people’s health and health behavior
